Underground Hip Hop Bandcampers: "Kayfabe Is Dead" by Empire Vs. Dr G

Published on 29 November 2022 at 10:22

Empire (Gamblez and Hectik) take on the famed UK producer Dr. G out of the UK in this soundscape that is themed around wrestling. It is a lyrical gem with some hard-hitting beats that stays on the gas the whole way through. The intro features a sound bite of Harlem Heat (multi-tag team champions in the WCW, Booker T and Stevie Ray), it also is littered with other gems, like Hawk from Legion of Doom (or Road Warriors) and the "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Dr. G does a great job in showcasing that retro feeling inside his beats staying true to the theme. There are many strong features as well on this project (it says it is an EP, but it is really an LP) that add to the potency of the Hip Hop that is displayed on this effort with; Big Noyd, Ill Bill, Skull Bludgeon, info, DJ TMB, Billy Rosco, Dystrakted, DJ Taebo Manuhs, Blaq Poet, Sevin Soprano, Chris Rivers, and Kenny Brazil. This is definitely a project you don't want to miss, so check it out!
